We are currently looking for a Senior Benefits Specialist for our Owensboro, KY office.
The individual in this position will have dual responsibility for benefits accounting and internal customer support through the Boardwalk Benefits Service Center. Prepare financial statements and Form 5500s for multiple benefit plans in compliance with ERISA requirements. Prepare and analyze monthly account analyses. Work with internal and external auditors to demonstrate compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and appropriate internal controls. In addition, this person will be responsible to coordinate and provide internal customer support for employee benefit programs for active, retired, and disabled employees. Benefit programs include medical, dental, life, short and long term disability, cancer, vision, FSA, and COBRA. Internal customer support involves acting as a liaison between employees and benefit providers to resolve benefit related problems and ensure effective utilization of the plans. Will also develop, implement, and follow administrative procedures to monitor and reduce costs, improve delivery of programs, and ensure compliance.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
• Excellent computer skills, verbal communication skills, and written communication skills.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail, ability to prioritize, and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Strong interpersonal skills
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
• Benefits accounting experience.
• Internal customer service experience.
• 3-5 years experience in employee benefit plans administration.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Basic HRIS experience.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
