Job Description

The Benefit Specialist for AtlanticCare will be responsible for:

Program Administration: Manage day-to-day operations for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans.

Enrollment & Orientation: Conduct new-hire orientations to explain benefit packages and guide employees through the enrollment process. Maintaining the Oracle Fusion Health and Welfare system including QDRO’s, Qualified life events, dependent verification and other similar tasks.

Open Enrollment: Participating in annual open enrollment periods, preparing communication materials and assisting staff with plan changes.

Compliance: Ensure all programs follow federal and state laws such as ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and the Affordable Care Act (ACA).


Cross functional collaboration: The Benefits Specialist also demonstrates departmental teamwork and flexibility by performing other duties as assigned. This position will coordinate and communicate regularly with the Shared Services Team, Talent Acquisition Teams and departmental leadership.

This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to team work and cooperation.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Associates degree or equivalent of 5+ years of HR experience required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

EXPERIENCE: LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Minimum 2+ year's benefits experience required. Knowledge of on-line benefit administration required. Good interpersonal skills required. The candidate for this position is detailed orientated and able to function independently. HRIS experience preferred. HR healthcare experience preferred.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

Position requires desk/computer work for a majority of the time. This position requires some walking and standing and occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. Position requires increased amounts of repetitive motion with regard to typing.
