The Benefits & Engagement Specialist enhances the overall employee experience by managing benefits programs and supporting engagement initiatives that promote well-being, inclusion, and organizational belonging. This role bridges employee needs and company offerings, ensuring clear communication, equitable program administration, and continuous improvement of employee engagement strategies. The Benefits & Engagement Specialist is responsible for coordinating and administering employee benefits programs, including health, wellness, retirement, and leave management. In addition, this role supports the design, communication, and execution of engagement and recognition initiatives that foster connection, motivation, and workplace satisfaction. The specialist partners closely with HR Business Partners, Payroll, and external vendors to ensure compliant, consistent, and accessible HR experiences for all employees.

  • Administer all employee benefit programs, including enrollments, changes, and terminations, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Serve as the point of contact for benefits-related inquiries, providing timely and empathetic support.

  • Collaborate with vendors to resolve benefit issues and ensure quality service delivery.

  • Manage employee engagement programs (e.g., recognition, surveys, events, well-being initiatives) aligned to company culture and values.

  • Support communications related to benefits and engagement, including policy updates, open enrollment, and cultural campaigns.

  • Analyze benefits usage data and engagement metrics to recommend improvements.

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations (e.g., ACA, ERISA, FMLA).

  • Partner with HR and leaders to drive inclusion, retention, and employee satisfaction goals.

Skill Level Requirements

  • Proven experience in benefits administration or employee engagement.

  • Strong knowledge of health, retirement, and leave program fundamentals.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.

  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Proficiency with HRIS and benefits management platforms.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience implementing or managing engagement survey tools or recognition platforms.

  • Project management or event coordination experience.

  • Familiarity with HR metrics and reporting best practices.

  • Knowledge of wellbeing and inclusion strategies in the workplace.


Other Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.

  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred but not required.

  • Continuing education in employee experience, DEI, or benefits compliance is an advantage.

  • Hours/Shift subject to be determined

  • Position to reside at Somerset, NJ or Austin, TX

The estimated annual pay range for this position is $60,000 - $90,000 which includes a base salary. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
