Job Title: Benefits Assistant (Temporary Position)

Temporary Position: 6-8 months

Reports: Benefits Manager

Location: Wall Township, NJ

Job Type: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm (This is a hybrid position M/T/Thurs in office, W/F remote)

Pay Rate: $25.00 an hour

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support Leaves Administrator with administrative aspects of employee leave of absence and return to work process. FMLA and ADA administration.
  • Support Benefit Administrators with day-to-day administration of all health and welfare plans. Oversee other benefit operational tasks.
  • Maintain contact with insurance companies, employees, and beneficiaries to facilitate proper and complete utilization of benefits for all employees.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for escalation of employee benefits inquiries and complaints to ensure a quick, equitable, and courteous resolution.
  • Responsible for customer service calls for leaves of absence and benefits overseeing and monitoring benefits inbox, resolving issues, and working directly with Managers to ensure reasonable timeframes for resolution.
  • Assist with the reconciliation of benefit invoices and billing.
  • Assist in annual benefit open enrollment process, internal communications, updating new elections. Run standard reports and create ad-hoc reports for audits /or analysis to support benefits compliance.
  • Assist with multiple special projects.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of Benefits administration experience – FMLA administration
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements; both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, ADA, FMLA, IRS and DOL regulations.
  • Advanced Excel user (pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas) required.
  • Experience with HRIS systems: UKG (UltiPro) a plus.

  • Great technical ability, proficiency within Microsoft Office
  • Be comfortable with data, running and analyzing reports.
  • Proven ability for analyzing and critical thinking.
  • Must demonstrate trustworthiness, confidentiality, initiative, and flexibility.
  • Passion for delivering Benefit Services and demonstrates a Can-Do-Attitude.
