Job Location: Allied Benefit Systems - CHICAGO, IL 60606

Salary Range: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 Salary
Job Category: OperationsPOSITION SUMMARY
This position will be responsible for drafting Plan Documents for group health plans.  Additionally, the BCA will maintain a detailed database tracking the history of all group health plan revisions. The BCA will also be responsible for organizing plan documents online.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Review all aspects of the templates and data submission in order to draft plan documents and summary plan descriptions (SPD) for self-funded group health plans.
- Question and advise on documents being drafted.
- Assist from a technical standpoint in creating and improving efficient workflows.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- At least 2 years’ experience drafting benefits documents required.
- Possess an understanding of Federal laws that impact group health plans, including the Affordable Care Act required
- Excellent written communications required
- Knowledge and previous ERISA experience required
- Experience with document review, legal documents, and file management required
- Intermediate knowledge of Adobe to create plan documents.
- Must be tech-savvy and possess a thorough understanding of Microsoft Excel and Word, particularly with respect to formatting Word documents.
- Must be comfortable learning new software programs.
- Attention to the smallest details and superior organizational skills are of paramount importance.
