Job Description

Essential Job Functions

  • Benefits Administration
    • Administer employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, retirement, wellness, and leave programs)
    • Manage enrollments, changes, and terminations in HRIS/benefits systems
    • Coordinate with vendors and brokers to ensure smooth plan operations
  • Data Analysis & Reporting
    • Analyze benefits utilization, costs, and trends
    • Prepare reports and dashboards for HR leadership and finance teams
    • Support budgeting and forecasting for benefits expenses
  • Compliance & Regulatory Support
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA)
    • Assist with audits, filings, and required reporting (e.g., 5500 forms)
    • Maintain accurate documentation and plan records
  • Vendor Management
    • Act as a liaison between the organization and benefits providers
    • Evaluate vendor performance and assist in contract renewals
    • Support RFP processes and vendor selection
  • Employee Support & Communication
    • Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits coverage and claims
    • Develop and distribute benefits communication materials
    • Support open enrollment processes, including education sessions
  • Program Improvement
    • Identify opportunities to improve benefits offerings and employee experience
    • Benchmark benefits against industry standards
    • Recommend cost-saving strategies without compromising quality
  • Other duties as assigned

Other Skills & Abilities

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Excel/data analysis skills preferred
  • Knowledge of benefits regulations and compliance requirements
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information

Physical Requirements

  • Talking, hearing and using hands to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other computer components
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in benefits administration or HR analytics
  • Experience with HRIS and benefits platforms

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

  • Professional certification may be required in some areas.
