Position Purpose
Administers benefit programs, consults with and advises employees on eligibility for insurance, and other benefits. Maintains benefit records and prepares documents necessary for implementing benefit coverage. This position provides excellent customer service and recommends quality benefits plans. The administrator continually investigates new benefits programs, improves existing programs, and monitors all benefits administration. This position assists employees with benefits enrollment and questions, verifies all insurance billing, maintains employee database and files, and ensures compliance. Processes and administers all leave-of-absence, disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA program. Not a supervisory position.

Essential Duties
- Enrolls new employees in benefit plans and provides benefits orientation.
- Works on assignments that are complex in nature where considerable judgment, analysis, and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations.
- Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.
- Coordinate transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration.
- Evaluate and revise internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
- Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations.
- Coordinate benefits processing, including enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, as well as maintaining employee benefits files, database and employee payroll records, and the processing of monthly billings
- Perform plan audits and census’. Prepare, collect and organize data for Brokers.
- Monitor administrative costs of benefits programs and recommend cost containment strategies, including alternative methods for administration and funding. Prepare budgetary recommendations and assist in the monitoring, verifying and reconciling of budgeted funds.
- Provide customer service support to internal and external customers. Develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package.

QualificationsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Requires considerable judgment, tact, discretion, and initiative.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including PowerPoint; experience with HRIS and benefits databases.
- Project management skills and experience.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs.
- Knowledge of benefits contract language.

Minimum

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related field, and 2-5 years of employee benefits administration experience.
Preferred

Qualifications
- CEBS professional designation.
Driving Requirements
• Valid drivers license
• Proof of motor vehicle insurance
• Personal vehicle in good operating condition for use during work
• No major violations in the past three years.
• No more than two moving violations in the past three years
• Ability to meet and maintain agency driving requirements and operate agency vehicles
