As a HYVE HR Advisor focused on Benefits and Leave Administration, you’ll manage day-to-day leave of absence (LOA) casework, benefits education, accommodations, payroll impacts, and Workday processes. You’ll serve as a trusted connector among HYVE, Benefits, Payroll, HR, Absence Management, and Communications—ensuring coworkers get timely, accurate support and the business stays compliant with federal, state, and company policies.

This role blends hands-on case management, process execution, and stakeholder partnership. If you thrive in a structured environment, enjoy simplifying complex rules, and care deeply about delivering a positive coworker experience, this is an opportunity to make a measurable impact.

What You’ll Do

Leave of Absence Administration and Case Management

  • Educate managers, HR partners, and coworkers on leave programs (FMLA, non-FMLA, state leave programs, CFRA, Short-Term Disability, Paid Family Leave, Paid Parental Leave).
  • Guide coworkers on state claim filing responsibilities and explain how state benefit offsets impact company-provided disability and leave benefits.
  • Complete and return California EDD and other state-required leave documentation.
  • Coach managers on leave responsibilities, compliance requirements, and Workday processes.
  • Monitor appropriate use of Personal Leaves and provide policy-aligned guidance.

Leave Tracking and Follow-Up

  • Maintain proactive oversight of LOA cases to ensure timely claim filing, approvals, and return-to-work planning.
  • Track future-dated events (e.g., maternity/paternity, scheduled procedures) and ensure claims are initiated on time.
  • Follow up with coworkers who have received instructions but have not filed within required timelines.
  • Monitor denied or pending claims and coordinate with coworkers and absence case managers until resolution.
  • Track end dates, extensions, and revised return-to-work dates; issue reminders for fitness-for-duty when applicable.
  • Coordinate leave considerations for coworkers with workers’ compensation claims.
  • Connect with coworkers ahead of return dates to confirm plans or support extensions when needed.

Workday and Leave Administration

  • Process leave-related status changes from the absence management vendor and complete corresponding Workday transactions based on daily/weekly reports.
  • Confirm return-to-work status with managers and coworkers and update Workday accordingly.
  • Identify and correct discrepancies (e.g., inaccurate start/end dates); process retroactive actions when absences weren’t reported timely and educate leaders on notification procedures.
  • Manage Workday Cases assigned to the Benefits team for HYVE coworkers.

Payroll and Compliance Support

  • Investigate and resolve payroll issues related to LOA (overpayments/underpayments, status-driven pay changes).
  • Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate, timely processing of leave transactions.
  • Coordinate with the Absence Management Provider on claim corrections, escalations, and administrative issues; engage legal counsel on complex cases as needed.

Accommodations and Return-to-Work

  • Monitor leave-related accommodations and maintain communication with managers and coworkers on status updates.
  • Partner with HR and managers to evaluate reasonable accommodations under ADA/FEHA and similar laws.
  • Identify potential duties or temporary work arrangements aligned to medical restrictions where feasible.
  • Support smooth, compliant return-to-work transitions.

Benefits Administration and Coworker Support

  • Provide new-hire benefits education, including dependent verification assistance.
  • Serve as the primary contact for HYVE benefit inquiries via the US Benefits mailbox.
  • Support annual Open Enrollment and related coworker education.
  • Ensure HYVE receives and distributes TD SYNNEX benefit communications, enrollment materials, and plan updates.

  • Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline, and follow-through across multiple concurrent cases.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate, influence, and coach managers and coworkers.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a high sense of ownership, confidentiality, and ethical judgment.
  • Experience completing state leave documentation (e.g., California EDD) and coordinating with third-party administrators.
  • Payroll coordination or reconciliation experience related to LOA transactions.
  • Exposure to workers’ compensation leave coordination and fitness-for-duty processes.
