About the role

Join a 2026 AFR BOSS Best Places to Work Gold Winner and 2026 Sustainability Champion recognised by the World Steel Association. Play a key role in shaping our performance across our (insert specific) business.

Based at our InfraBuild Recycling Hemmant site, we are seeking Belt Pickers who will be responsible for picking and sorting of scrap metal from the conveyor.

What you will be doing:

  • Pick and sort scrap metals from running conveyor belt
  • Remove contaminants to maintain the quality of materials
  • Monitor the conveyor belt speed and functionality
  • Notify maintenance or supervisors of any mechanical issues
  • Adhere to workplace safety procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness in the yard and operational areas

We have both day and afternoon shift available, with both shifts offering overtime paid at penalty rates.

  • Day shift – 6am – 2pm, Monday to Friday - $34.94 per hour
  • Afternoon shift – 2pm – 10pm, Monday to Friday - $40.18 per hour

  • Ability to learn how to quickly and accurately identify different types of metal
  • Experience in scrap recycling, construction or manufacturing, advantageous
