This role is ideal for a hands-on operational leader who can drive program adoption, support facility teams, oversee program workflows, and ensure consistent execution across the state.

The Behavioral Program Manager will serve as a key partner to clinical leadership, facility teams, and internal program stakeholders to support high-quality care delivery, program compliance, and measurable patient outcomes. This position includes supervisory responsibility and provides direct oversight, guidance, and performance support to assigned Behavior Coordinators and/or other program support team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead state and facility-level implementation of behavioral health programs, ensuring workflows are adopted and executed consistently across assigned facilities.

  • Support program launches by reinforcing expectations, identifying operational barriers, and helping facility teams meet program requirements.
  • Conduct routine reviews of census, tier placement, documentation, and program performance to identify trends, resolve issues, and support program integrity.
  • Coordinate and oversee behavioral meetings, ensuring program support and clinical teams are prepared with required materials, schedules, and support.

  • Perform regular on-site facility visits to evaluate program performance, provide hands-on support, educate facility leadership and staff, and ensure alignment with program protocols.
  • Lead rapid response efforts when workflow disruptions, documentation concerns, or escalations arise.
  • Develop training tools, checklists, process improvements, and other resources that support scalable and consistent program execution.
  • Support onboarding for new facilities joining the program, ensuring expectations, workflows, and operational requirements are clearly communicated.
  • Manage operational system readiness and help remove technical or workflow barriers that may disrupt program execution.
  • Participate in recurring program meetings with facility partners to review metrics and align priorities.

  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, accountability, and performance support to assigned Behavior Coordinators and/or program support team members.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support program expansion, performance, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in behavioral health, long-term care, healthcare operations, or program management.
  • Experience leading programs across multiple facilities, regions, or markets.
  • Prior experience supporting state behavioral health add-on programs preferred.
  • Experience coordinating with multiple teams or clinicians preferred.

  • Experience developing training resources, workflows, operational tools, or process improvement materials preferred.
  • 3-5 years supervisory or team leadership experience required.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of behavioral health, clinical workflows, or regulatory standards in post-acute or long-term care settings.
  • Ability to lead, supervise, coach, and hold assigned team members accountable for performance and consistent execution.
  • Proven ability to influence facility leadership, drive adoption, and support process change across multiple sites.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience reviewing trends, metrics, documentation, and operational performance data.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, conflict-resolution, and training skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify barriers and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Proficiency with EHR systems, Microsoft Office, and other communication or workflow tools.

  • Ability to travel regularly across assigned facilities.
