Merakey’s AWARD WINNING Mental Health Walk-In Clinic is Philadelphia’s first behavioral health urgent care, delivering same-day, compassionate support to adults—regardless of insurance or ability to pay. Built on a calming, person-centered “living room” model, the clinic meets people where they are, providing immediate care, stabilization, and connection to ongoing support.

As the Program Director, you’ll have the opportunity to continue to shape an innovative program that fills critical gaps in care, empowers individuals in moments that matter most, and helps reduce reliance on emergency services—making a lasting impact on the community every day.

The Program Director will be responsible for:

  • Overall administration, operations, and strategic direction of the behavioral health urgent care facility.
  • Ensuring delivery of timely and effective urgent behavioral health services to individuals experiencing urgent mental health and substance use challenges.
  • Leading a team of clinicians and support staff.
  • Maintaining compliance with applicable regulations
  • foster a culture of compassion and excellence.
  • Lead BHUCC development, implementation, quality improvement, and evaluation efforts.
  • Responsible for ongoing improvement and advancement or the program.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Current state licensure as a Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in behavioral health, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Experience working in behavioral health crisis services strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mental health crises and urgent care services.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a diverse team of professionals.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance, and accreditation standards.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and healthcare technology.
