Behavioral Health Therapist - Neurofeedback & Outpatient Services


Salary Range:

  • Master's Level:$58,011 - $81,224 annually based on relevant years of experience
  • Master's Licensed: $66,040 - $92,394 annually based on relevant years of experience

Location: Larimer County, Colorado

Status: Full Time, Salaried, 40 hours per week

The salary range for this position is SummitStone’s good faith belief and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this position at the time of the posting. Responsible for providing on-going assessment, crisis intervention, individual, family, and group therapy as well as case management. Develops and monitors service plans, treatment progress, documents interactions and maintains clinical records and other reporting data for clients with behavioral health, disorders, and/or disabilities. Coordinates with internal as well as external supportive services to deliver needed services to client. Collaborates with treatment team providers.

This position will provide a combination of traditional outpatient therapy and Neurofeedback services and will work across multiple SummitStone locations based on community and program needs, traveling between sites. The position is designed to expand access to Neurofeedback throughout Larimer County, including areas where access is currently limited, while continuing to support traditional outpatient behavioral health services.

SummitStone utilizes the EEGer Neurofeedback system The clinician will receive specialized Neurofeedback training and ongoing clinical consultation from SummitStone’s Neurofeedback Team Lead. During the Neurofeedback training and caseload development period, the clinician will maintain a traditional outpatient caseload. As competency and demand increase, the balance between outpatient therapy and Neurofeedback services may adjust based on program and community needs.

Essential Duties:

  • Provide services to clients as assigned by Administrative/Clinical Supervisor.
  • Provide/facilitate a wide variety of clinical services including individual, family and group activities to achieve treatment plan goals.
  • Provide Neurofeedback services using the EEGer system following completion of required training and demonstration of clinical competency.
  • Educate clients regarding Neurofeedback, nervous system regulation, treatment expectations, and how Neurofeedback integrates with their broader behavioral health treatment.
  • Assess behavioral health needs of clients and families; develop treatment plans and goals; provide case management services as needed to assist clients in meeting their goals; and refer clients to supportive services.
  • Conduct crisis intervention via telephone, face-to-face. Intervene and de-escalate crisis situations with clients. Assess the risk of harm to self or others and arrange needed resources.
  • Collaborate with therapists, prescribers, case managers, peer specialists, and other members of the treatment team to integrate Neurofeedback and outpatient services into the client's overall treatment plan.
  • Assess behavioral health needs of clients and families; develop treatment plans and goals; Perform case management services as needed to assist clients to meet their goals; Refer clients to supportive services.
  • Document treatment plans, progress reports, group notes, individual notes, case management notes, letters, faxes and phone calls in Electronic Health Record. Follow the documentation policy and procedures.
  • Collaborate with partner agencies to support clients in carrying out treatment/service plans.
  • Follow agency productivity standards as outlined by SummitStone Health Partners.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:


Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field from an accredited college or university

Clinical licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, CAS Track) or clinical licensure candidacy

Valid Colorado Driver's license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record

At least one year of experience in the behavioral health field



Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience or training in Neurofeedback, biofeedback, EEG, or neuroscience-informed behavioral health interventions.

• Experience providing outpatient behavioral health services

• Experience with trauma-informed, CBT, DBT, EDMR, or other evidence-based approaches that compliment Neurofeedback

• Experience working with clients with complex behavioral health needs

• Bilingual/Bicultural
