Compensation & Benefits:

  • Starting Pay: $21.00 - $23.00/hour + Shift Differential
  • 12-hour shifts - 6:45pm to 7:15am

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) plays a vital role in supporting clients throughout their behavioral health treatment by providing direct care, promoting a safe and therapeutic environment, and assisting the clinical team in delivering quality services. The BHT works closely with clients to encourage recovery, reinforce treatment goals, observe and document client behaviors, and communicate significant changes to the treatment team. Services are provided in accordance with Ohio MHAS standards and are identified within each client's Individualized Service Plan (ISP).

Key Responsibilities & Role Highlights:

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with youth by providing encouragement, guidance, and emotional support.
  • Assist youth with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meals, housekeeping tasks, and healthy recreational activities.
  • Facilitate and participate in structured therapeutic, educational, and recreational programming that promotes skill development and recovery.
  • Accurately document client behaviors, progress, incidents, and daily interactions in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.
  • Utilize trauma-informed care, crisis prevention, de-escalation techniques, and appropriate interventions to maintain a safe and supportive environment.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, nurses, and other interdisciplinary team members to support individualized treatment goals and ensure high-quality client care.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma

  • Must be at least 21 years old

  • Valid driver’s license & insurable (if driving required)

  • CPR & CPI certification within 90 days of hire

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A genuine passion for helping children succeed
