A residential behavioral health program in the Denton area is seeking a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) to support adolescent residents with dual diagnoses, trauma-related needs, behavioral instability, and crisis stabilization requirements. This role plays an essential part in maintaining a safe, therapeutic, and structured treatment environment.
This PRN/part-time position is ideal for nurses seeking additional hours, consistent weekend shifts, and the opportunity to support a growing behavioral health program.
Provide behavioral monitoring, stabilization, and therapeutic support throughout the shift.
Administer medications and complete documentation within the electronic medical record.
Conduct assessments, vitals, safety checks, and nursing interventions.
Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning with therapists and psychiatric providers.
Support crisis prevention and utilize de-escalation techniques when needed.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation according to policy and clinical standards.
Communicate effectively with clinical staff to ensure continuity of care.
Maintain a calm, professional demeanor during high-acuity situations.
Active, unencumbered Texas RN license
Minimum 1 year of experience in behavioral health, psychiatric care, residential treatment, or inpatient nursing
PRN or part-time availability with required weekend coverage
Current BLS certification (or ability to renew upon hire)
Comfort working with adolescents in a structured treatment setting
CPI, Handle With Care, or similar crisis-prevention certification
Prior experience with trauma-informed care practices
