Jefferson Parish Human Services Authority (JPHSA) is a Local Governing Entity (LGE) created by the Louisiana Legislature in 1989. JPHSA is responsible for the management and operation of behavioral health and developmental disability Services in Jefferson Parish. JPHSA provides fully integrated primary and behavioral healthcare services through its JeffCare program.

The Behavioral Health Community Services (BHCS) Division provides a continuum of community-based behavioral health and supportive programs to assist individuals in their recovery from mental illness and/or addictive disorders. The Behavioral Health Program Director-A (Eunoia Center Program Manager) works under the direction of a Behavioral Health Regional Director (Clinical and Support Services Manager). The incumbent is required to maintain license or registration appropriate to the profession and the provision of a continuum of services offered to individuals with mental illness and/or a co-occurring disorder who are at risk for an emergent behavioral health crisis.

Examples of duties

A master’s degree in a social science, health or human services, nursing, or health administration field plus three years of experience providing behavioral health treatment; OR

A doctorate in a social science, health or human services, nursing, or health administration field, or a medical degree plus two years of experience providing behavioral health treatment.

Job Duties:

As a Behavioral Health Program Director A, you will,

  • Supervise the First Episode Psychosis (FEP) Peer and the Eunoia Center Peer per the JPHSA Staff Development & Supervision Guidelines.
    • Ensure adherence to policies and procedures. Initiate corrective and/or disciplinary action as warranted
  • Manage and monitor the First Episode Psychosis (FEP) Peer in collaboration with feedback from the Tulane partnership staff:
    • Ensure staff attends weekly team meetings
    • Ensure staff follows the guidelines of Peer Support and the FEP model to help individuals navigate the road to recovery from an episode of psychosis, including supporting efforts to function well at home on the job, at school, and in social situations
  • Manage and monitor the Eunoia Center and its 24/7 operations:
    • Collaborate with staff to ensure model-compliant delivery of services through weekly group staffing
    • Assist staff with identifying and ensuring timely access to the appropriate level of care when necessary (e.g. emergency services, behavioral health, primary care, etc.)
    • Provide guidance to staff with coordination of services through JPHSA's Centralized Care Coordination program, other internal and external service providers and family members
    • Collect data and complete reports documenting program services and activities, clinical outcomes, and authorizations for services, as needed
  • Provide programmatic consultation, oversight, and technical assistance to include service planning, budget planning, program structure, and discharge planning to contractors who deliver clinical treatment and ancillary services
  • Provide quarterly programmatic on-site monitoring including individual record reviews, interviews with staff, and contractor adherence to the Statement of Work

Work Schedule: Flexible work hours that may be outside of the traditional 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, schedule dependent on job duties.

Compensation:The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
