
Baptist Health Richmond is currently seeking compassionate, patient-centered nursing professionals to join our Behavioral Health team. We are accepting applications from both Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for this opportunity.

The Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) is a secured, therapeutic inpatient setting that provides short-term, intensive psychiatric care to patients experiencing acute mental health crises. The unit is staffed by a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, social workers, therapists, and behavioral health technicians, who collaborate to develop individualized treatment plans.
Behavioral health nurses are multifaceted. Nurses implement treatment plans and ensure patient care. They show a broad range of nursing skills, as well as practical knowledge of communication, emotional intelligence, and a healthy dose of compassion.
Registered Nurse implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness. This individual honors patient’s mind, body, and spirit by respecting human dignity and the uniqueness of everyone. Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and creativity. The Registered Nurse is an exemplar for compassion, acceptance, respect, and empathy honoring nursing as a distinct discipline and supporting an environment focused on healing and wellness.
