Job Description

The Clinician provides a comprehensive range of psychosocial assessment, diagnostic, counseling, crisis intervention, group facilitation, and case management services within an integrated, multi-disciplinary behavioral health setting. The role involves close collaboration with other mental health and medical providers to ensure high-quality, coordinated care for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy as appropriate; develop treatment plans and perform case management, including discharge planning.

  • Deliver therapeutic crisis stabilization services and interventions for clients in acute mental health or substance use crises.

  • Conduct clinical assessments using interviews, case histories, psychological evaluations, and observation to identify client needs and determine appropriate therapeutic approaches or referrals.

  • Collaborate with supervisors and interdisciplinary team members regarding case management and treatment planning.

  • Refer clients to community or social service agencies for supportive resources, including financial or housing assistance, as needed.

  • Track treatment progress through outcome measurements and make adjustments to care plans accordingly.

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation from intake through discharge, ensuring compliance with professional and ethical standards.

  • Develop and sustain relationships with referral partners and coordinate with external treatment providers to support continuity of care.

  • Participate in community outreach, education, and liaison activities as appropriate.

  • Provide supervision to interns or unlicensed clinicians, if applicable.

  • Support administrative and quality improvement activities, such as scheduling, chart audits, and utilization reviews.

  • Attend and participate in supervision sessions, staff meetings, case conferences, and interdisciplinary team discussions.

  • Deliver psychoeducation or training to staff and community partners when requested.

  • Uphold the organization’s mission, values, and standards of professional conduct.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.

  • Licensure: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or equivalent. Provisional or associate-level licensure are encouraged to apply too.

  • Skills & Competencies:

    • Ability to make sound clinical and procedural decisions.

    • Strong assessment, diagnostic, and interviewing skills.

    • Knowledge of behavioral health principles, evidence-based therapeutic modalities, and ethical standards.

    • Ability to document clinical work accurately and efficiently.

    • Familiarity with community mental health resources and referral processes.

    • Capacity to remain calm and effective during crisis situations.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage clients from diverse backgrounds.

    • Proficiency in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.

    • Understanding of confidentiality, HIPAA, and client rights regulations.

    • Ability to evaluate therapeutic progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
