- Monday – Friday
Salary Rate: $6–$7 USD per hour
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Behavioral Health Administrative Support Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a healthcare background, preferably with experience in behavioral health or psychiatric settings. Candidates with nursing or clinical experience are highly preferred but not required. This role involves providing administrative and patient support, managing phone and email communications, handling medication and prior authorizations, and maintaining accurate patient records within the EHR system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage inbound and outbound phone calls, emails, and patient inquiries professionally and efficiently
- Provide administrative support for behavioral health and psychiatric providers
- Process medication prior authorizations and coordinate with insurance companies, pharmacies, and providers
- Enter and update home medications accurately within the EHR system
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using CareLogic EHR
- Assist with appointment coordination, follow-ups, and general office workflow support
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and clinical staff
- Support daily office operations and ensure smooth clinic processes
- Handle sensitive patient information while maintaining HIPAA compliance and confidentiality
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in healthcare background required; behavioral health or psychiatric experience strongly preferred
- Nursing or clinical experience is a plus, but not required
- Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare office workflows
- Experience working in behavioral health, psychiatric, or mental health settings preferred
- Prior experience with CareLogic EHR highly preferred
- Experience with medication authorization and prior authorization processes
- Strong phone, email, and communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Basic requirements
- Must be proficient in speaking and writing English very clearly
- Must have relevant work experience
- Be able to submit an NBI clearance and/or Local Police Clearance background check before onboarding [mandatory]
- Must be available for video meetings with your camera on (when needed)
