The Behavioral Care Manager coordinates daily department operations, supports clinical teams,monitorsclient activity and risk, and ensurestimely,accurateadministrative and documentation tasks. Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate daily departmental operations and support a collaborative clinical team environment
• Monitor client activities and identify clients at risk via the suicide care pathway and other crisis indicators; prioritize and route information to staff
• Answer incoming calls, place non-billable calls, and document call details in the clinical record
• Schedule and cancel client appointments accurately, including correct disposition entries
• Prepare and research forms and evidence-based modules to support provision of billable services
• Verify client information and insurance status; communicate concerns to supervisory and supportive services staff
• Serve as liaison with HIM, Support Services, ROI, QI, and Medicaid personnel to maintain regulatory compliance for client charts
• Complete non-billable regulatory tasks in collaboration with supervisors and assist with assessments/sessions as workload allows
• Enter non-billable documentation into the electronic record and perform outreach documentation for client contact attempts
• Perform verifications of benefits and monitor Medicaid status to support ongoing coverage for outpatient treatment when needed
• Assist with intra-office and external referrals and take notes at daily team meetings, triaging staff based on risk rating and level of care
• Perform required tasks related to regulatory chart closure and other duties as assigned by leadership
Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience in office management preferred
• Strong documentation skills and ability to follow directions and accept supervision
Additional Qualifications:
• Ability to establish effective relationships via telephone and personal contacts
• Ability to comply with organizational, state, and federal compliance standards
• Successful completion of background checks (criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, fingerprinting) required
• Completion of New Hire Orientation and required training (including Relias) at hire and annually thereafter
• Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance required
Physical Requirements
• Sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently; primarily sitting with occasional walking or standing
