Behavior Technician (BT/RBT) - Paid BCBA and BCaBA Fieldwork Program

Pay: Direct work: $20 - $23 per hour| Indirect work: $15 - $20 per hour

Build your clinical skills while earning paid fieldwork experience. SenseSational Learning Group is hiring full-time Behavior Technicians and Registered Behavior Technicians who are working toward BCBA or BCaBA certification. Through our Wayfinder Program, team members receive free BCBA supervision, paid opportunities to complete unrestricted clinical activities, and a structured path toward greater responsibility and higher pay.

We are a small, BCBA-owned practice providing play-based, naturalistic, assent-based ABA services in homes, schools, and community settings throughout the Greater Lansing area. We follow each child’s lead, respect assent and assent withdrawal, and build skills that are meaningful to children and their families.

The Wayfinder Program

Wayfinder is a competency-based fieldwork pathway designed for future BCBAs and BCaBAs. As you demonstrate clinical skill, reliability, initiative, and responsiveness to feedback, you can advance through three stages:

Explorer: Build strong direct-care skills, learn our assent-based model, and participate in meaningful supervision.

Pathfinder: Take on more unrestricted work through assessments, program development, caregiver coaching, projects, and peer mentorship.

Navigator: Develop advanced clinical judgment by contributing to intakes, treatment planning, reauthorization preparation, caregiver coaching, and team training under BCBA oversight.

Advancement is based on documented competencies and available program capacity. Direct and indirect hour allocations vary by stage. What you will do

• Provide one-to-one ABA services using play-based and naturalistic teaching strategies.
• Build positive, respectful relationships with children and families.
• Collect accurate data and communicate openly about client progress.
• Participate in individual and group supervision with BCBAs.
• Complete paid indirect clinical activities appropriate to your Wayfinder stage.
• Contribute to developing programs such as social groups, caregiver coaching, and professional training.

What we are looking for

• Completed 40-hour RBT training or willingness to complete it before starting.
• Previous experience working with children.
• Availability for 35 scheduled hours per week, including at least three evenings from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license for travel between homes and community locations.
• Ability to be physically active with children, including sitting on the floor, playing outdoors, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Strong organization, initiative, curiosity, and willingness to seek and apply feedback.

For the BCBA fieldwork track: Enrollment in or completion of a master’s-level ABA program, or a completed master’s degree with an eligible behavior-analytic course sequence.

For the BCaBA fieldwork track: Enrollment in a bachelor’s program and enrollment in or completion of an eligible behavior-analytic course sequence.

Compensation and support

• Explorer – BT: $20/hour direct | $15/hour indirect | Typical mix: 28 direct and 7 indirect hours per week
• Explorer – RBT: $22/hour direct | $16/hour indirect | Typical mix: 28 direct and 7 indirect hours per week
• Pathfinder: $23/hour direct | $18/hour indirect | Typical mix: 23 direct and 12 indirect hours per week
• Navigator: $23/hour direct | $20/hour indirect | Typical mix: 18 direct and 17 indirect hours per week

Additional support includes: free BCBA supervision; paid drive time and training; mileage reimbursement; covered RBT exam and application fees; a $1,500 BCBA certification bonus or $750 BCaBA certification bonus; and priority consideration for clinician openings after certification.
