The Behavior Specialist plays a critical role in providing specialized behavioral support services to individuals across multiple residential and community-based settings. This position is responsible for developing and implementing individualized Behavior Support Plans (BSPs), training and coaching direct care staff, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective and consistent behavioral interventions.
The ideal candidate is passionate about improving quality of life through evidence-based behavioral practices and has experience supporting individuals with complex or high-intensity behaviors.

Primary Responsibilities
• Serve as a key member of the interdisciplinary team addressing significant behavioral and/or medical changes in supported individuals.
• Develop, review, revise, and implement individualized Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) and related support guidelines.
• Train and coach direct care staff on proper implementation of BSPs and intervention strategies.
• Provide modeling, behavioral intervention support, and crisis management assistance when necessary.
• Develop and implement multi-site behavioral and crisis management support services.
• Provide post-incident support and debriefing for staff and individuals receiving services.
• Conduct data collection, analysis, reporting, and make recommendations based on behavioral trends and outcomes.
• Maintain accurate electronic documentation and ensure reports are completed in a timely manner.
• Participate in interdisciplinary and inter-agency meetings to support treatment planning and goal development.
• Assist with abuse and neglect assessments and cooperate with investigations and inspections.
• Communicate appropriately with family members, guardians, and external stakeholders.
• Participate in on-call rotation as required.

Qualifications:
Required
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Master’s degree in Psychology or a related field
• Experience conducting behavioral assessments and implementing interventions for individuals with complex or high-frequency behaviors
• Experience training and coaching staff on implementation of Behavior Support Plans
• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to pass criminal background screening
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Preferred
• 1–2 years of experience working with individuals with mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Experience working in residential or behavioral health settings
