Job Specifics:The IBHS Behavior Consultant is responsible for:

  • Providing direct consultation for assigned child/teen/ young adult with a behavioral health diagnosis
  • Provide supervision/oversight of assigned Behavior Health Technicians (BHTs) on any assigned cases
  • Train family, school staff and assigned BHT on interventions indicated in the treatment plan
  • Complete a comprehensive assessment to determine clinical needs and trajectory of treatment using observation, interview and structured tools
  • Collect and review data collected to determine efficacy of treatment interventions
  • Complete and update treatment plan with detailed interventions and review of progress towards clinical goals
  • Collaborate with identified team members which may include Behavior Consultant, Behavior Health Technician, school staff
  • Participating in regular supervision to discuss cases and increase clinical knowledge
  • Documenting service provided utilizing the agency Electronic Medical Record

This position is a fee for servicepart-time employee position (minimum 10-15 hours per week) Services can be provided at school and/or in the home/community and are primarily located in Northeast Philadelphia.

Education/Training and requirements:

Master’s degree in social work or related human service field; valid license for the practice of Clinical Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy or a valid license of Social Work or Behavior Specialist from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; LSW or BSL must have a graduate degree that required a clinical or mental health direct service practicum. BSL preferred.

Must meet one of the following:

  • Licensed as a behavior specialist in the State of Pennsylvania
  • Have a minimum of one-year full time experience in providing mental health direct services to children and a graduate degree in psychology, social work, education or counseling.
  • Completed a clinical or mental health direct services practicum and have a graduate degree in psychology, social work, education, counseling or related field.
