Job Description
The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will serve as a hospital-based clinical and program development specialist responsible for establishing, implementing, and expanding Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services within the hospital and in collaboration with regional public school systems.
This position will provide clinical expertise, consultation, training, and program leadership to support children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental or behavioral needs across educational and healthcare settings.
The BCBA will work closely with hospital leadership, pediatric providers, therapists, educators, administrators, and community stakeholders to develop a sustainable ABA program that improves access to evidence-based behavioral services, enhances continuity of care, and strengthens partnerships between healthcare and educational systems.
Program Development
- Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of a hospital-affiliated ABA program.
- Develop clinical protocols, policies, procedures, and best practices consistent with ABA standards and regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities for program growth and service expansion based on community needs assessments.
- Assist with strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation for ABA services.
School System Partnership Development
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with public school districts and educational agencies.
- Serve as a liaison between the hospital and school partners to coordinate behavioral health and educational support services.
- Support the development of agreements, referral pathways, and collaborative care models between the hospital and school systems.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings with school personnel, families, and healthcare providers.
Clinical Services and Consultation
- Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and behavior analytic evaluations.
- Develop, oversee, and monitor behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
- Provide consultation to healthcare providers, educators, therapists, and caregivers regarding behavioral interventions and treatment strategies.
- Ensure all services are delivered in accordance with BACB ethical standards and evidence-based practices.
Education and Training
- Provide training and professional development to hospital staff, school personnel, and community partners on behavior analytic principles and interventions.
- Develop educational resources to enhance understanding of behavioral health needs in children and adolescents.
- Mentor and supervise Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and other behavioral health staff as appropriate.
Quality and Outcomes Management
- Monitor program outcomes and key performance indicators.
- Collect and analyze data to evaluate effectiveness of interventions and program initiatives.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and accreditation readiness efforts.
- Maintain compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards.
