Job Description

Job Title: BEARCLAW RESTAURANT CLERK Level II (Age 21+)

Rate of Pay: $14.00/hr + Tips

Shift: Full-Time or Part-Time, Seasonal Positions

Variable AM/PM shifts Sunday through Saturday

Weekends and holidays required.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explain any specials and/or promotions for guest awareness.
  • Demonstrate complete knowledge of menu items and ingredients to educate guests and make recommendation.
  • Assist guests with inquiries in a timely manner and with a cheerful disposition.
  • Develop, lead, maintain, and enhance guest relations through personalized experience and unscripted guest interactions.
  • Apply reasoning to variety of situations resulting in successful outcomes for co-workers and guest.
  • Input the order into the Point of Sale computer to inform the kitchen of the particulars in the order being placed.
  • Keep composure and maintain service standards when dealing with guests' complaints to achieve a high level of guest recovery..
  • Accurately handle money in accordance with department policies and procedures.
  • Ensure safety measures and health code standards for food and beverage handling are upheld.
  • Transport trays/plates throughout the workspace which may weigh up to 40 pounds.
  • Deliver food and beverage items to guests.
  • Demonstrate a complete understanding of all applicable laws and regulations concerning service of alcoholic beverages in Utah. (As dictated by Beverage Department and State and local laws).
  • Perform opening & closing side work duties daily.
  • Bus tables and ensure tables are reset in a timely manner and to Sundance standard.
  • Complete required paperwork including bar transfers and dry stock deliveries.
  • Ensure that the area is always clean and in good repair, with responsibility for informing Management as needed for maintenance and/or cleaning assistance.
  • Ensure that floor is kept dry, to prevent slips and falls.
  • Stock items in proper location.
  • Work in required uniform and shoes as detailed in departmental policies.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of company and department rules, policies and procedures through performance and decision making.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of six months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to use point-of-sale system.
  • Must possess or obtain a valid food handlers permit within 30 days of employment.
  • Level II: Must possess or obtain a valid alcohol service permit within 30 days of employment.
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to taste or smell, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Level II: Must be 21 years of age or older
