Job Description

Our mission is to strengthen Boston youth and families in their pursuit of success through meaningful relationships, essential programs, and vital community resources.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities: - Assist with bike safety and education for children, helping them develop confidence and skills while riding. - Lead fun and engaging bike drills, games, and activities to teach children safe biking practices. - Provide hands-on bike maintenance training, such as fixing flat tires, lubricating chains, and adjusting handlebars. - Support program instructors and site coordinators to ensure smooth operations at various community locations. - Participate in training and support initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of the program and develop personal leadership skills. - Maintain the cleanliness of the premises, both inside and out, including regular sweeping. - Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper disposal. - Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the weight room, including regular disinfection, to ensure a healthy environment for all members. - Provide assistance with cleaning and maintenance in all other areas of the facility as needed. Program Locations: -The program will be implemented at multiple Boston Parks locations (Franklin Park, Almont Park, East Boston Memorial Stadium, Ronan Park), as well as several BCYF centers (e.g., Gallivan, Pino, Paris Street, and others).

The Ideal Candidate for this Job

Ideal Candidate: Energetic and passionate about teaching children. Interested in promoting active lifestyles and community engagement. Able to work collaboratively with a team and independently when required. Previous experience with youth programs, cycling education, or community outreach is a plus. Willing to assist the custodial and building services staff with general facility maintenance. Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling. Bilingual youth are encouraged to apply.
