Join our team as a hands-on and detail-oriented Battery Lab Technician in Shanghai, where you will support critical battery testing and validation operations. You'll play a key role in executing test plans, operating specialized laboratory equipment, and ensuring accurate and reliable validation data for cells and packs. This position is pivotal in maintaining safe and efficient lab operations, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and supporting multiple development programs.

Responsibilities

  • Execute battery cell and pack test plans, ensuring accurate and reliable data generation.
  • Operate and maintain lab equipment, with a focus on Neware Cyclers and related hardware.
  • Perform Incoming Quality Control (IQC) procedures and precise measurement protocols for battery cell and module validation programs, including P0, P1, and EVTx.
  • Record detailed test data, assist in preparing status updates, and compile data for validation reports.
  • Support continuous improvement by deploying custom testing solutions and enhancing lab efficiency using automated tools.
  • Monitor Neware dashboards for real-time tracking and status of tests and equipment.
  • Assist the Lab Manager in providing samples or data to third-party test houses and external labs.
  • Ensure the upkeep and organization of the lab, maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience or strong familiarity with battery testing procedures and cell/pack validation.
  • Practical experience operating battery testing equipment, particularly Neware Cyclers.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow standardized lab processes, including IQC and precise measurement protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail in recording test data and identifying anomalies during testing.
  • Experience in basic equipment maintenance, test fixture setup, and handling delicate components.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to or willingness to learn advanced analysis techniques such as CT scanning, cross-section preparation, and 3D measurements.
  • Basic familiarity with Python, data logging tools, or SMbus communication.
  • Understanding of general lab safety protocols and proper handling of battery materials.
