We’re seeking an experienced Battery Energy Storage (BESS) Leader to join our Power Generation team within Energy. You’ll play a key role in shaping, developing and delivering utility-scale battery projects across Australia and beyond, supported by a diverse, collaborative and forward-thinking team.

What you’ll do

• Lead the development and delivery of utility-scale BESS and power generation projects

• Deliver scoping, concept and feasibility studies across battery and generation assets

• Lead or contribute to EPC/IPP procurement processes, including functional specifications, tender evaluations and negotiations

• Provide trusted advisory services on battery storage markets, project strategies and technical solutions

• Support projects through detailed design, owner’s engineer, lender’s engineer and O&M phases

• Undertake lender due diligence and technical risk assessments for battery projects

• Develop strong BESS business cases by integrating technical, commercial and market insights

• Build trusted client relationships, support business development and prepare proposals

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across solar PV, wind, pumped hydro and hybrid/island grid projects

What you’ll bring

• 10+ years’ experience in the power industry, consulting, battery storage or energy project development

• Strong understanding of the full project development lifecycle, from approvals and grid connection through to construction and operations

• Solid knowledge of electrical infrastructure, NEM requirements and generator connection processes

• Understanding of current and emerging services provided by large-scale batteries in a transitioning energy market

• Proven ability to solve complex problems, think strategically and deliver value-focused outcomes

• Strong analytical, commercial and stakeholder engagement skills

• Relevant engineering qualification (electrical preferred) with RPEQ registration or eligibility
