Job Description

The Batch Plant Operator is responsible for overseeing daily plant operations, ensuring the consistent and accurate batching of ready mix concrete, and maintaining a safe, efficient, and high-quality production process.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate the batch plant to produce ready mix concrete according to job specifications and company standards.
  • Demonstrate understanding and knowledge of concrete mix designs to ensure accurate batching.
  • Monitor plant controls, scales, and equipment to ensure proper batching and material consistency.
  • Perform dispatching responsibilities such as order entry and direct communication with customers as needed.
  • Effectively communicate with drivers to direct them to jobsites and ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Coordinate with drivers, dispatch, and customers for timely delivery of concrete.
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly inspections and routine maintenance on batching, material handling, and support equipment.
  • Follow all safety procedures to ensure the safety of self and crew at all times. Use required PPE when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of production, materials, inspections, and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality control procedures.
  • Assist with yard organization, stockpile management, and housekeeping.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a batch plant operator required.
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience operating a front end loader a plus.
  • Ready mix truck driving experience preferred; CDL a plus.
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends as needed.
