Job Description

Minimum Stipend Offered: $4,582

Purpose Statement:

Extra-curricular activities are an important extension of the student experience. As an Assistant Coach, you will play a key role in inspiring, motivating, and teaching students basketball-specific skills while fostering positive character traits and building strong relationships with athletes both on and off the court.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and execution of team practices and drills.
  • Provide individual coaching to athletes, focusing on skill development.
  • Support the Head Coach in managing team dynamics and game strategy.
  • Promote a positive and supportive team culture.
  • Encourage teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among athletes.
  • Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and staff.
  • Ensure student safety during practices and competitions.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • A passion for teaching and motivating students.
  • Knowledge of basketball techniques and strategies.

Education and Experience

  • Completion of 60 or more college credit hours prior to coaching.

The Francis Howell R-III School District encompasses over 150 square miles in the southeast corner of St. Charles County and is one of the largest school districts in the State of Missouri. With an enrollment of nearly 18,000 students and approximately 2,300 employees, the Francis Howell Learning Community works every day to provide a consistent and comprehensive education that fosters high levels of academic achievement for all.

The history of the Francis Howell School District dates back to 1825. Through mergers, the District became the Consolidated School District No. 2 of St. Charles County in 1915. As a result of additional mergers, the District became the Francis Howell Reorganized #3 School District in 1951. The District serves portions of the municipalities of St. Charles, St. Peters, and O’Fallon, as well as Cottleville, Dardenne Prairie, Weldon Spring, New Melle, and unincorporated areas of St. Charles County.

The District’s educational facilities include ten elementary, five middle, and three high schools; three early childhood buildings; and two alternative education schools.
