Length of Time: Eligible for rehire on a semester basis.

Job Description

The applicant is expected to learn and apply biochemistry and behavioral techniques regularly in the lab. Techniques include western blot, qPCR, HPLC, rodent I.V. self-administration, micro-dialysis, conditioned place preference, and analgesic assays.

Job Location/ Hours Required

The candidate will perform all job duties in Congdon Health Sciences. Hours may vary depending on the job requirements. This position requires a minimum of 10 hours per week; weekend duties are necessary upon availability.

Responsibilities:

• Complete all necessary training modules for working with laboratory animals
• Provide animal husbandry activities including handling, care, maintain sanitary animal housing
• Accurate and thorough recording of experiments and data in lab notebook
• Management of laboratory consumables
• Solution preparation
• Glassware cleanup and organization
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Must have a minimum (2.5) overall GPA
