Functional Human Resources - Summer 2027

Location: This is a field-based opportunity with coverage across several U.S. locations, rather than being solely based in Research Triangle Park, NC.

BASF's Grow@BASF internship programs were created to provide highly motivated, mobile-minded university students with opportunities to enhance their professional skills through diverse learning experiences.

As a Functional Human Resources intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced HR professionals while supporting projects and initiatives that contribute to BASF's people and business priorities.

Depending on your assignment, you may gain exposure to different areas of Human Resources while developing an understanding of how HR partners with the business to support employees, leaders and organizational goals.

Program Summary:

As a highly motivated undergraduate student, you will participate in a 12-week summer internship working alongside a mentor and BASF Human Resources teams.

Functional HR internship assignments may include opportunities within areas such as:

• Talent Acquisition and Talent Management
• Learning and Development
• Employee Experience and Engagement
• HR Business Partner support
• Compensation and Benefits
• HR Operations
• Workforce Planning and Analytics
• Other HR programs and initiatives

Depending on your assignment, your experience may include:

• Supporting HR projects and initiatives aligned with business and workforce priorities.
• Collecting, organizing and analyzing HR or workforce data to identify trends and insights.
• Assisting with employee programs, communications, presentations and HR resources.
• Supporting talent, learning, engagement or employee experience initiatives.
• Conducting research and helping develop recommendations to support HR projects.
• Collaborating with HR professionals, business leaders and cross-functional teams.
• Using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and other applications specific to your internship assignment.
• Developing project materials, presentations and other business deliverables.
• Building your communication, analytical, project management and problem-solving skills through hands-on assignments.
• Gaining exposure to how Human Resources supports employees and business objectives within a large global organization.

Mobility is important for this program

Internship assignments may be located in a variety of locations throughout the United States, including BASF's North American headquarters in the Raleigh, NC area.

Throughout the summer, interns will receive ongoing feedback, mentorship and professional development opportunities. Interns will be assessed for potential future opportunities, which may include a returning internship or, where applicable, a full-time opportunity within one of BASF's Professional Development rotational programs.
