Job Title: Junior Varsity (JV) Baseball Head Coach

Position Overview:

Cooperstown Central School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Junior Varsity Baseball Head Coach to lead and develop student-athletes in our JV baseball program. This position plays a vital role in preparing younger players for the varsity level, instilling strong fundamentals, sportsmanship, and a team-first mindset.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and lead all JV baseball practices and games
• Teach baseball skills, rules, strategies, and team values
• Foster a supportive and positive environment for athlete growth
• Promote good sportsmanship, accountability, and academic achievement
• Communicate effectively with players, families, and coaching staff
• Collaborate with the varsity head coach to ensure program consistency and athlete development
• Maintain equipment and follow district policies and safety procedures
• Supervise athletes during practices, games, and team travel
• Comply with NYSPHSAA, Section III, and district guidelines

Qualifications:

• Required:
• Completion or willingness to complete NYSED coaching requirements:
• First Aid & CPR Certification
• DASA Training
• Concussion Management Training
• SAVE Training
• Fingerprint clearance through NYSED
• Preferred:
• Prior coaching experience at the youth, JV, or varsity level
• Strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals and athlete development
• Effective leadership and communication skills
• Commitment to student-athlete success on and off the field
