Job Description

SUMMARY
The Base Operations Associate is a dynamic, guest-facing role responsible for supporting multiple operational and service functions across Tamarack Resort’s base areas. This position flexes across winter mountain operations and summer marina operations, ensuring a seamless, safe, and welcoming guest experience year-round.
Associates are cross trained to support ticketing, rentals, retail, sports school, parking and base setup, tune shop services, and summer marina operations. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy variety, and take pride in delivering exceptional guest service.
Base Operations Associate (Seasonal)

Reports To: Outfitters Manager / Base Operations Supervisor

CORE RESPONSIBILITES - All Seasons
Guest Experience & Service
· Deliver warm, professional, and solution-oriented service to all guests
· Serve as a knowledgeable resort ambassador, providing accurate information and wayfinding
· Support guest flow during peak periods to reduce wait times and enhance experience
Operational Flexibility
· Rotate between assigned work areas based on daily operational needs
· Support peak periods, holidays, special events, and high-volume weekends
· Follow all resort safety standards, risk management protocols, and SOPs

WINTER OPERATIONS RESPONSIBILITIES
Ticketing
· Sell and process lift tickets, passes, and activity products
· Assist with waivers, RFID media, and POS transactions
Rentals
· Assist with equipment check-in and check-out
· Support basic boot fitting, helmet fitting, and equipment adjustments (training provided)
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of rental areas
Retail
· Assist guests with apparel and accessory purchases
· Maintain merchandising standards and inventory organization
Sports School Support
· Assist with lesson check-in and guest flow
· Direct guests to meeting areas and instructors
· Support instructors and supervisors during peak lesson times
Parking & Base Area Setup
· Assist with parking flow and guest arrival coordination
· Support daily setup and breakdown of base-area infrastructure (signage, stanchions, walkways)
Tune Shop Support
· Assist with tune shop intake and pickup
· Communicate service timelines to guests
· Maintain front-of-house organization

SUMMER OPERATIONS RESPONSIBILITIES - Marina Support
Marina Guest Services
· Greet and assist marina guests with reservations, rentals, and wayfinding
· Support check-in and check-out for watercraft and equipment rentals
Dock & Equipment Support
· Assist with staging, launching, securing, and returning rental equipment (training provided)
· Support dock operations during peak arrival and return times
Marina Retail & POS
· Assist with marina retail purchases and transactions
· Support merchandising and restocking
Marina Safety & Readiness
· Reinforce marina safety procedures and guest flow protocols
· Assist with daily setup, breakdown, and cleanliness of marina guest areas

Seasonal Leveling Structure
Base Operations Associate I (Entry Level – Seasonal)
Role Focus:
Foundational guest service and operational support with emphasis on training and learning resort systems.
Requirements & Expectations
· Certified in 1–2 operational areas (winter or summer)
· Reliable attendance and willingness to learn
· Ability to follow SOPs and safety standards

Base Operations Associate II (Cross-Trained – Seasonal)
Role Focus:
A flexible, dependable associate capable of independently working across multiple operational areas.
Requirements & Expectations
· Certified in 3–4 operational areas, including at least one seasonal crossover (winter + summer)
· Strong system proficiency and product knowledge
· Ability to support peak periods with minimal supervision
· Assist with mentoring new associates

Base Operations Associate III / Lead (Senior / Lead – Seasonal)
Role Focus:
Senior seasonal associate providing on-the-ground leadership and real-time problem-solving support.

REQUIREMENTS
· Certified in 4–5 operational areas, including winter base and summer marina operations
· Acts as a primary resource for guest issue resolution
· Supports staff positioning, readiness checks, and daily operations
· Models Tamarack service, safety, and professionalism standards
QUALIFICATIONS
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
· Comfort working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
· Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
· Basic POS or cash-handling experience preferred
Schedule & Availability
· Seasonal schedules vary by operational need
· Availability required for weekends, holidays, and peak periods
