Job Description

SUMMARY

This position will independently operate The Den entertainment venue while providing exceptional guest service and performing all bartender and day-to-day operational duties. The employee will be the sole employee on duty at The Den and will be responsible for maintaining the venue, serving guests, preparing and serving beverages, operating the POS system, handling transactions, maintaining inventory, and ensuring the venue is operated safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform opening and closing procedures of The Den entertainment venue.
  • Independently operate The Den as the sole employee on duty.
  • Perform all bartender duties, including preparing and serving beer, wine, liquor, cocktails, and other beverages in accordance with established standards and applicable laws.
  • Provide prompt, professional, and courteous service to all guests at The Den.
  • Maintain 100% guest satisfaction while working independently.
  • Operate the POS system, process guest transactions, and properly handle cash and credit card payments.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of beer, wine, liquor, mixers, garnishes, and other bar supplies.
  • Responsible for ordering of supplies and maintaining adequate par levels.
  • Restock and organize the bar, storage areas, and entertainment venue as needed throughout the shift.
  • Maintain consistency in the room set up, bar set up, cleanliness, and overall appearance of The Den.
  • Maintain a high standard of sanitation and safety throughout the venue.
  • Monitor the condition and safety of The Den and promptly report maintenance, safety, security, or guest concerns to management.
  • Manage resources and control costs to produce a profit.
  • Conduct daily line-up meetings and attend other meetings as required.
  • Complete weekly forecasts and all assigned budgets.
  • Support upper management decisions and complete all assignments requested by management.
  • Responsible for target marketing and in-house marketing.
  • Complete group recap sheets on a daily basis.
  • Keep waste and spoilage to a minimum through proper rotation, storage, and usage of all food and beverage items.
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitation of the bar and entire assigned area.
  • Must follow all applicable laws, policies, and procedures regarding the service of alcoholic beverages.
  • Must follow proper grooming and dress standards set forth by the Employee Handbook.
  • Maintain open line of communication with supervisor.
  • Must understand and abide by environmental practices of the resort.
  • Must be able and available to work all posted hours of the outlet and must be available seven days a week.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • College degree in hospitality with a food and beverage emphasis preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age, have bartending skills or proven knowledge of beers, wines, liquors, and drinks.
  • Basic computer knowledge and POS a must.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Applicants need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment and able to work varied hours to include weekends and holidays. Time off requests are only granted if business allows. Applicant must be able to work well as an individual and as a member of a team with a goal of providing outstanding guest service.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk and hear.
  • The employee must occasionally stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, twist, turn, and carry up to 35 lbs or more, continually for up to 8 or more hours
  • Have the ability to walk up and down stairs
  • Carry oval serving trays and tray jacks that are loaded with dishes and/or food.
  • Able to move tables and chairs as needed for seating arrangements
  • Able to walk on carpet and concrete surfaces
  • Able to read, write and count money
  • Able to wash glasses and restock

  • Requires the ability to interact with people beyond giving and receiving instructions.
  • Must be adaptable to performing under stress when confronted with an emergency.
  • Must be able to effectively handle stressful and compromising situations while remaining focused and professional.
  • Must be able to deal with difficult people without losing perspective.
  • Must be able to work productively under strict time restraints with variable deadlines.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud
  • Indoors and outdoors in both hot and cold environments
  • Crowded areas
  • Using various chemicals for cleaning and sanitizing according to MSDS standards
  • Mandatory to work weekends and Holidays
  • May be required to work in other departments
