YOUR MISSION (The Job Description)
The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to patrons and taking and serving food and drinks orders. They are also responsible for overseeing the stock of liquor and bar supplies and for collecting payments from patrons. Our Bartenders show attention to detail in all their work. Cleanliness is key and maintained throughout service and they will always go out of their way to take care of guests' requests. Working with a team first mentality and going above and beyond is something they do proudly.
THE NITTY-GRITTY (The Essential Job Duties)
- Receive, prepare and serve liquor, mixed drinks/ cocktails, wine, beer and non-alcoholic drinks, as ordered from patrons and/or waitstaff. Take and serve food orders for guests seated at the bar
- Ensure that snacks, fruit and other garnishes are prepared and stocked ahead of the opening of the bar. Monitor proper par levels of all supplies.
- Maintain the bar, keeping it clean and organized at all times.
- Display glasses and liquor bottles in an attractive manner.
- Submit orders or create requisition forms for liquor, beer, and other bar-related supplies.
- Ensure that guests are of legal drinking age by asking for an appropriate ID card
- Maintain company funds and equipment in an orderly manner
- Interact with guests in a manner which makes them feel comfortable and welcome
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required.
- Communicate any problems or detrimental situations to immediate supervisor
- Responsible for the security and accuracy of assigned bank and is accountable for any and all overages and shortages
- Must be physically present at work, in assigned workstation, in order to perform all functions required of the position
- Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of noise, crowds and smoke, the severity of which depends upon customer volume
- Always communicate effectively with customers and all levels of employees
- Observe and direct actions of barbacks and inspect and maintain areas for which responsible
- Distinguish between different denominations of currency and make change
- Review and comprehend all necessary documentation
- Use the equipment associated with the position, including but not limited to the cash register and all bar equipment
- Effectively and efficiently move around bar area
- Perform other duties as assigned

MUST HAVE'S
- Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
- Communicate clearly in verbal and written English
- Food Service Handler Card and TABC certification that is currently valid for a minimum of at least 6 months
- The skills and abilities necessary for effective performance within this position are typically acquired through three years + bartending or similar experience or through progressive promotion and training within the Beverage department
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
THE WORKING CONDITIONS
- Lift and carry 50 lbs., carry and balance plates, carry kegs, wine and beer cases as necessary
- Stand for periods of 8-10 hours
- Bend, squat and stretch in areas of limited space to perform cleaning, organization, and other duties
- Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of cold, heat, sound, illumination, smoke, air quality, and pet hair/dander
- Incumbents are at times subject to hazards such as chemicals; proper safety precautions will be taken. This position occasionally works outside and is subject to all weather
