YOUR MISSION (The Job Description)
The Bartender at the Resort Pool is responsible for providing excellent customer service while preparing alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for guests and cocktail servers while also taking orders and serving snacks and drinks. Additionally, assesses bar customers' needs and preferences and makes recommendations.
Qualifications
THE NITTY-GRITTY (The Essential Job Duties)
- Prepare cocktails for cocktail servers and guests of the Virgin Hotel using prescribed recipes
- Maintain company funds and equipment in an orderly manner
- Interact with guests in a manner, which makes them feel comfortable and welcome
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Assist in the delegation of duties to barbacks
- Monitor proper par levels of all supplies at assigned bars
- Communicate any problems or situations detrimental to property to immediate supervisor
- Responsible for the security and accuracy of assigned bank and is accountable for all overages and shortages
- Must be physically present at work, in assigned workstation, to perform all functions required of the position
- Always communicate effectively, with customers as well as all levels of employees
- Observe and direct actions of barbacks and to inspect and maintain areas for which responsible
- Distinguish between different denominations of currency and make change
- Review and comprehend all necessary documentation
- Use the equipment associated with the position, including but not limited to the cash register and all bar equipment
- Retrieve supplies and maintain a clean working area
- Other duties as assigned

MUST HAVE'S
- Current, legal and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
- Must be minimum 21 years of age
- High school or equivalent education required
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English
- Food Service Handler Card and TABC certification that is currently valid for a minimum of at least 6 months
- Knowledge of and ability to mix a wide variety of drinks
- The skills and abilities necessary for effective performance within this position are typically acquired through five (5) years bartending or similar experience or through progressive promotion and training within the Beverage department
- Preferred: 1-2 years' experience in a full-service restaurant or lounge
WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE'S
- Familiarity with superior customer service skills required
- Must have the ability to lead and supervise
THE WORKING CONDITIONS
- Lift up to 60 pounds of equipment or supplies, and move carts that weigh up to 100 pounds
- Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of cold, heat, and sound. Incumbents are at times subject to hazards such as chemicals; proper safety precautions will be taken. This position occasionally works outside and is subject to all weather. Proper clothing is provided
- Stand and walk for entire shift
- Stoop, bend, and reach in areas of limited space
