Ballyfin is a 5 Star luxury country house hotel in the heart of Ireland at the foot of the Slieve Bloom Mountains.

The Estate spans 614 acres and is full of history, tranquility and great natural beauty. With only 20 Bedrooms, and a private one bedroom Gardeners Cottage, the house has long been admired as the most lavish Regency mansion in Ireland. Having opened in May 2011 after 8 years of restoration, we offer the very best of Irish hospitality in the most beautiful surroundings imaginable.

Our 5 star luxury property offers the perfect place for a break from the modern world and offers discretion and privacy like few other destinations.

Ballyfin Demesne is only one of two properties in Ireland who have been awarded Three Michelin Keys. In 2024, our Executive Head Chef Richard Picard-Edwards was successful in gaining Ballyfin's first Michelin Star which we have proudly retained in 2025/2026.

This is a full-time position, 5 days over 7 days. Typical Hours are 3pm until closing however flexibility is required. Hours are subject to change.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner at all times and make appropriate recommendations where required
• Excellent knowledge of traditional and classic drinks, including cocktails is essential
• To have excellent knowledge of the wines and other beverages that you will serve, including the different spirits, beers & soft drinks available and to be able to open, pour and serve all of them according to the Ballyfin 5-star standards
• To prepare and set up pre-dinner drinks section in a timely manner ensuring excellent presentation
• Ability to manage stock levels and replenish where required
• Ensure the bar area and bar equipment are kept clean and presentable at all times
• To correctly take orders, ensuring no errors, including answering any questions that guests may have on the menu or drinks.
• Be up to date on dietary requirements
• To demonstrate a commitment to customer & service excellence at all times
• To anticipate guests needs in order to enhance quality service and in turn enhance guest satisfaction.
• To ensure a professional, prompt service of food & wine to the highest standards to the guest
• To train junior members of staff and work with them to improve their knowledge of beverages
