The RoleBartender- Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and food to guests inafriendly, efficient, professional manner. This is a part-time positionthatparticipatesin a tip pool with barbacks,runnersand servers.
Responsibilities:
Interact with guests in a natural, friendlymanner
Cultivate regular guests and repeat business
Successfully complete a pour testat manager discretion
Suggestively sell both beverage and menu items to guests at the bar
Deliver food items and beverage orders promptly
Prioritize and organize drink orders
Consistently prepare beverages according to standard recipes and venue specifications, abide by all control systems
Reportany equipment failure and/or safety hazardsto management
Recognize when guests are becoming too intoxicated and refuse further service of alcohol in a courteous and safety-minded manner, bringing it to the attention of a manager
Ensure responsible alcohol service perTABC guidelines and Brooklyn Bowl alcohol policies
Request proper identification for anyone appearing under 30 years of age
Maintain Brooklyn Bowl safety and sanitation standards
Perform Opening/Running/Closing duties according to Brooklyn Bowl policy
Prepare guest checks (on point of sales terminal) and process payment according to Brooklyn Bowl policy
Perform cash pull / check out procedures
Maintainappropriate Compand Spill checks
Knowledge of Health Code and ABC regulations and understanding of compliance
Required to occasionally work Special Events that are scheduled throughout the venueandmaintainSpecial Event etiquette
Qualifications:
Required:
ValidTABC Cardrequired
Minimum of 1-year experience as a bartender
Will be lifting 20-50 pounds repeatedly
Mustpossessbasic reading, writing and mathematical skills
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
Ability to work later hours
Strong knowledge of alcohol mixology, drinkmenusand classic cocktail preparation
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work closely and efficiently with others
Perform reaching and stooping motions repeatedly
Accurately measure ingredients for mixing drinks
Move throughout the bar and venue areas during the entire shift
Work in an environment with loud musicand crowds for extended periods of time
Stand or in a stationary position for entire shift
Ability to deal with intoxicated guests in a positive and safety minded manner
Tolerance of allidentities,cultures,musicand art forms
Preferred:
4yearswork experience in high volume environment
High School diploma or GED preferred
Experience in a live music environment
Experience working in a high-volume restaurant, bar or entertainment venue preferred
Positive, friendly attitude
Physical Demands/Working Environment:
Working environment isfast-paced, often loud and stressful
Position requires extended periods of prolonged standing and working on your feet
