The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
· Works as a team with all personnel to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service.
· Works with others to keep all areas always clean and stocked to the Company’s standards.
· Mixes, garnishes, and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for patrons of bar and dining room following standard recipes.
· Enters and completes customers’ orders on computer system, accepting different types of payment.
· Checks identification of guest to ensure they are of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages; politely refusing beverages to guests who are not of legal age.
· Counts drinks served and track open bar tabs.
· Anticipates guest’s needs and follows the half-full rule when offering another drink; remains alert of Guest signals (raising a hand, looking directly at you, etc.), and acknowledges guest so they know you will be right with them.
· Responsibly serves alcohol and remains aware of guests’ state of intoxication.
· Other duties as assigned.
· Be of legal age to serve alcohol.
· Ability to pass Responsible Service of Alcohol Test with a score of 90% or better.
· California Food Handlers card is required for all food service employees who prepare, store, and serve food.
· Basic knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits, and be familiar with standard drink recipes
· High energy and strong verbal communication skills required.
· Ability to stay calm and work efficiently under pressure.
· Ability to prioritize job duties and manage time effectively.
· A willingness to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Started by our parents, Sam and Shirley, who came to America from Eastern Europe in search of a better life. We continue their tradition of authentic family style meals and fresh baked rye, challah, cakes and pastries. All of our items are prepared in house including our corned beef and pastrami. Today, Sam’s initial recipes live on in the hands and hearts of our expert bakers. A portion of the original mother dough still starts each and every loaf we bake. Many of our traditional meals are Shirley’s original recipes; Matzo Ball Soup,Potato Latkes, Sweet and Sour Cabbage, and Chicken Soup.
