  • Hourly pay rate of $21.02 to $24.02

What you will be doing:

  • Prepare and serve specialty coffee, tea, and other beverages to Fairmont standards
  • Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee equipment safely and efficiently
  • Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation of all beverages served
  • Provide prompt, courteous, and personalized service to all guests
  • Assist with inventory control, stock rotation, and replenishment of coffee and related supplies
  • Operate the point-of-sale system to process cash, credit, and other transactions accurately
  • Balance cash, prepare daily reports, and reconcile sales at the end of the shift
  • Suggest and upsell food and beverage items to guests
  • Clean and maintain barista station, equipment, and storage areas
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation standards in beverage preparation and service
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Minimum of two (2) years recent (within the last 5 years) barista or beverage service experience in a high-volume or premium environment
  • “Food Safe” Certification required.
  • Knowledge of specialty coffee, espresso-based drinks, and tea preparation
  • Cash handling and POS operation experience
  • Ability to operate standard coffee equipment efficiently and safely
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to perform with minimal supervision
  • Strong guest service focus with the ability to anticipate and respond to guest needs
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal
  • Impeccable grooming and professional presentation

Additional Information

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): The position of Barista is physically demanding. The successful applicant must be physically capable of performing repetitive work, standing and walking for long periods of time, as well as lifting and carrying a full tray long distances.

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
