The Barista creates an exceptional guest experience by preparing high‑quality beverages and food items, delivering warm and attentive service, and maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment. This role supports efficient café operations by following established recipes, cash‑handling procedures, and safety standards while contributing to a positive and collaborative team atmosphere.
Prepare handcrafted beverages and food items according to Starbucks recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
Greet guests with a warm and welcoming attitude while taking accurate orders and anticipating guest needs.
Maintain strong knowledge of Starbucks products, seasonal offerings, and customization options to assist guests with confidence.
Operate espresso machines, blenders, ovens, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, including workstations, condiment bars, seating areas, and equipment.
Follow all cash‑handling procedures, operate the POS system accurately, and complete transactions efficiently.
Support inventory rotation, restocking, and product preparation to ensure availability throughout the shift.
Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines including proper handwashing, temperature control, and food‑handling procedures.
Communicate effectively with team members and leadership to support smooth operations and timely service. Maintain a calm and positive demeanor during high‑volume periods.
Perform opening and closing duties including cleaning, restocking, and completing required checklists.
Perform additional duties or special assignments as required.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous customer service or food‑and‑beverage experience preferred but not required.
Ability to learn quickly, follow recipes, and carry out verbal and written instructions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to maintain a friendly and professional demeanor in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to obtain and maintain any required state food‑handler or gaming licenses.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions.
Ability to lift or carry up to 15 pounds and handle frequent bending, reaching, and walking.
Ability to work in environments with variable temperatures, noise levels, and guest activity.
Ability to work varied shifts including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Compliance with all company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
