Essential Job Functions:
- Greet customers warmly and take orders accurately.
- Prepare and serve coffee and tea beverages, including espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, and cold brews.
- Operate espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and other equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area, utensils, and equipment.
- Ensure all drinks and food items meet quality standards and presentation guidelines.
- Handle cash and card transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Manage inventory and restock supplies as needed.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
- Engage with customers, answer questions about the menu, and offer recommendations.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth operation of the café.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Barista or in food service preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
- Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Basic math skills and familiarity with POS systems.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Knowledge of coffee brewing methods and specialty drinks.
- Passion for coffee and a desire to learn more about the craft.
- Team-oriented and adaptable to change.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The role of a barista requires the ability to stand for extended periods, often up to eight hours or more during a shift. Baristas are frequently walking within the café, bending, stooping, and reaching to access supplies, equipment, and ingredients stored at various heights. The position also involves lifting and carrying items weighing up to 25–30 pounds, such as milk containers, boxes of coffee beans, or other inventory. Repetitive hand and wrist motions are common, especially when operating espresso machines, tamping coffee, and preparing beverages. Good manual dexterity and fine motor skills are essential for tasks that require precision. Clear verbal communication is necessary for interacting with customers and coworkers, often in a busy and noisy environment. Visual acuity is also important to ensure the quality and presentation of beverages and for the safe use of machinery and tools.
