The Barista provides friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional experience for all guests by taking orders, making recommendations when appropriate, processing payments, and serving food or beverages to customers at the counter, table or drive through window. The Barista must be able to interact with customers in a polite and respectful manner. This role performs other duties in the areas of food and final order preparation including preparing beverages and arranging food items. Must be available to work weekends, mornings, nights and holidays.
ESSSENTIAL/PRIMARY DUTIES:
Promotes, works, and acts in a manner consistent with company policies
Calls back customer orders in a friendly manner
Receives and processes guest payments
Prepares or serves hot or cold beverages, such as coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees, or teas
Takes guest orders and conveys them to other employees for preparation
Cleans or sanitizes work areas, utensils, or equipment
Describes menu items to guests or suggests products that might appeal to them
Cleans service or seating areas
Serves prepared foods, such as muffins, oatmeal, or bagels etc.
Prepares or serves menu items, such as sandwiches or salads.
Set ups or restocks product displays
Weighs, grinds, or packs coffee beans for guests
Stocks guest service stations with paper products or beverage preparation items
Wraps, labels, or dates food items for sale
Provides guest with product details, such as coffee blend or preparation descriptions
Takes out garbage
Orders, receives, or stocks supplies or retail products
Slices fruits, vegetables, desserts, or meats for use in food service
Checks temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, or heating equipment to ensure proper functioning
Demonstrates the use of retail equipment, such as espresso machines
Creates signs to advertise store products or events
Attends all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement
SECONDARY DUTIES:
Coordinates with and assists fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant
