Wood is currently sourcing for a Barge Supervisor to join our team in Equatorial Guinea.

Location: offshore Equatorial Guinea, West Africa

Rotation Work Pattern: 5 weeks on 5 weeks off, 7-day week 12-hour day

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • The Barge Supervisor will report to the Mooring Master / Offshore Installation Manager and provide a range of marine, operational and technical related support. The position also provides information and reports in relation to the Offshore Production Facilities. The position will play a key role in interfacing with the project additional assets and OIM’s and various Onshore departments including, HSE, Logistics, Procurement-Contracts, Warehousing, and SAP to provide operational team support to the offshore installations.
  • This position is normally located offshore on an FPSO asset on a rotational basis.
  • Support the Offshore operations to ensure the facilities are operated and maintained in compliance with company processes, EHS Standards, DNV Standards, BMA standards, and API Standards.
  • Be an integral part of the Emergency Response Team (ERT)
  • Interface with Onshore and Offshore Teams to ensure marine and operational requirements are met and supported, including both subsea systems and topside systems
  • Prepare and maintain relevant procedures, reports, records, and documents required for day-to-day operations as well as for special projects.
  • Monitoring of safety and operational KPI’s, compliance to marine standards and safety standards, and raising of actions as appropriate to ensure objectives are met and optimum field performance.
  • Management of a range of assigned support service contracts as well as manage contractors while onboard.
  • Responsible for all cargo matters and the supervision of all activities associated with marine operations.
  • Supervise a department consisting of deck crew and marine operators. Play a key role in developing your team to integrate Marine Operations team with the other FPSO departments
  • Calculate and monitor the vessel’s stability in conjunction with the Ballast Control Operator. Prepare and manage the loading and offloading plan. Supervise all cargo and ballast operations. Be able to operate the cargo and ballast control console to maintain optimum ballast condition for the prevailing environmental conditions and operations. Responsible for all matters related to the metering of oil.
  • Prepare the FPSO for all cargo operations including tank cleaning, gas-freeing, cargo change-over operations, and tank repairs including ongoing extensive Hull Integrity confined space work.
  • Liaise & co-ordinate with O&M contractor as required providing training and competency assurance to O&M personnel.
  • Facilitate in the mentoring and development of National staff.
  • Ensure that effective communications are maintained with offshore personnel, service contractors and government personnel.

Essential requirements for this role:

Education & Experience:

  • Masters Certificate - (STCW II/2); or Barge Supervisor Certificate
  • Specialized Oil Tanker Training
  • Several year’s marine experience including experience in a supervisory position.
  • Several years international experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • International Ship and Port Security Course for SSO (Ship Security Officer).
  • Advanced Fire fighting – Certificate of Proficiency
  • Fast Rescue Boat - Certificate of Proficiency
  • CPSC and RB Certificate of proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats
  • Global Maritime Distress and Safety Systems, General Operator’s Certificate
  • Formal training with Command of Major Emergencies competency.

Desirable:

  • Commercial experience and awareness.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills; work with minimal supervision; must be a self-starter.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Effective English written and oral communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP desirable.
  • Experience with Process Safety Management will be a plus.
