Position Summary
The Barback is a critical support role within the beverage operation, responsible for maintaining the highest standards of preparation, cleanliness, organization, and readiness behind the bar. In a high-end club environment, the Barback ensures bartenders are fully supported at all times by proactively stocking, prepping, and maintaining bar stations, wells, garnishes, juices, mixers, glassware, and supplies. This role directly impacts service speed, beverage quality, consistency, and the overall member experience.                                                                                Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Bar Preparation & Service Support
- Assist bartenders by restocking beer, wine, spirits, mixers, garnishes, ice, glassware, and bar supplies throughout service
- Prepare fresh garnishes, juices, and house mixers daily according to established recipes, specifications, and par levels
- Set up, maintain, and reset bar wells to ensure they remain clean, organized, properly iced, and fully stocked at all times
- Anticipate bartender needs and respond proactively to service demands during peak periods
- Support bar setup, transitions, and breakdown for daily service, banquets, and special events
Cleanliness, Organization & Sanitation
- Maintain exceptional cleanliness and organization of bar tops, back bars, wells, service stations, storage areas, and prep spaces
- Wash, polish, inspect, and restock glassware to luxury presentation standards
- Ensure proper ice handling procedures, including clean scoops, covered bins, and sanitation compliance
- Remove trash, recycling, and empty bottles promptly, discreetly, and safely
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department standards at all times
Inventory & Product Handling
- Monitor inventory levels of beverages, garnishes, juices, mixers, glassware, and supplies
- Communicate shortages, quality concerns, or equipment issues immediately to bartenders or management
- Assist with receiving, inspecting, labeling, organizing, and rotating beverage deliveries using FIFO standards
- Handle premium spirits, wines, and glassware with care and respect for product value
Professionalism & Service Standards
- Maintain a polished, professional appearance consistent with a high-end club environment
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency while remaining calm, focused, and detail-oriented
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with bartenders, servers, managers, and support staff
- Uphold responsible alcohol service policies and Club operating procedures
- Represent the Club positively through attitude, teamwork, and accountability

QualificationsMinimum

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Previous experience in a high-end bar, restaurant, hotel, or private club environment preferred
- Strong understanding of bar operations, cleanliness standards, and service flow (or willingness to learn quickly)
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Exceptional attention to detail, cleanliness, and organization
- Team-oriented mindset with a proactive, service-driven attitude
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely
- Must meet minimum age requirements per state alcohol regulations
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
- Professional demeanor with a focus on member satisfaction
- Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
