Job Description

The Bar Straightener Operator is responsible for straightening steel bars, tubing, and other metal materials using hydraulic presses and straightening equipment. This role ensures materials meet quality and dimensional specifications before moving to the next stage of production.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate hydraulic presses and straightening equipment to remove bends, warps, and irregularities from metal bars and tubing
• Inspect materials before and after straightening to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards
• Measure and verify straightness using gauges, straightedges, or other measuring tools
• Load and position materials safely onto machinery
• Adjust machine settings and apply appropriate pressure to achieve desired results
• Identify defects or inconsistencies and report issues to supervisors
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines at all times
• Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience in a manufacturing, metal fabrication, or machine operation role is a plus
• Ability to read measuring tools and basic blueprints/specifications
• Strong attention to detail and quality control
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate industrial equipment
• Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods

Work Environment

• Industrial/manufacturing setting
• Exposure to heavy machinery, noise, and varying temperatures
• Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

• Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy steel bars and materials
• Standing, bending, and repetitive motion throughout the shift
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
