Job DetailsJob Location: NC The Umstead Hotel and Spa - Cary, NC 27513Position Type: Full TimeJob Shift: Flex AM/PMThe Bar and Lounge Host is responsible proactively welcoming, greeting and managing the Bar and Lounge reservations list and seating flow in accordance with The Umstead Hotel standards.
Job Requirements:
Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in a clean uniform
Efficiently and accurately take reservations with special occasions and allergies noted properly
Proactively greet guests as they arrive to the host stand and assist with guest questions, as needed
Accurately communicate with Servers any and all notes for each table
Assist in the clearing and resetting of tables, if necessary
Display a cordial, accommodating, and hospitable disposition while interacting with guests
In addition, other duties may be required as directed by your Manager
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to continuously stand/ walk a minimum of 8 hours.
Must be able to periodically lift and carry up to 15 lbs. over the course of a shift.
Must be able to bend, kneel, push and pull over the course of a shift.
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, both written and oral.
All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per The Umstead Hotel standards.
Will be occasionally required to perform job functions outdoors and be exposed to sun, heat, humidity and other elements.
Must be able to operate Bar and Lounge equipment.
Must be able to work a flexible shift that includes nights, weekends and holidays.
QualificationsEducation:
High school or equivalent education required.
Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of customer service experience. Restaurant or hotel experience preferred.
Licenses or Certificates:
Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits.
