Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort Position Description

POSITION TITLE: Bar Helper

DEPARTMENT: Entertainment, The Smokehouse Coop, Pool Bar, WSOP, Italian

GRADE/FLSA STATUS: H4 Non-Exempt

BADGE TYPE/COLOR: Work Permit-Peach

REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Food Service; Dual Rate Supervisor, Food Service

SUPERVISES: N/A

Create an entertainment environment for all guests. Provide courteous, friendly, and prompt support to the Food & Beverage departments.Keep the bars and guest-facing bar areas / clean and stocked at all times.

JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  1. Endorse the business objectives, ethics, and values of Caesars Entertainment in accordance with the Code of Commitment and Mission, Vision, and Values

  2. Provide fast, friendly, professional beverage service to casino guests and beverage servers

  3. Prepare N/A beverages as ordered

  4. Build relationships with guests

  5. Greet and welcome all guests in a pleasant and professional manner

  6. Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists

  7. Clean the bar area, including (but not limited to) mats, floors, sinks, drains, and other bar appliances

  8. Keep the bar area clean and the workstation stocked in accordance with established health and safety guidelines

  9. Receive and restock all supplies delivered from the main warehouse

  10. Manually push a cart loaded with beer, liquor, and supplies to the various bars as needed during the shift

  11. Maintain an adequate inventory of products and supplies in the assigned areas
  12. Use Partender to assist the Bartenders in taking daily opening/closing inventories
  13. Adhere to department par levels
  14. Able to move and tap kegs.
  15. Monitor guest consumption of alcohol and intervene as needed according to guidelines
  16. Follow the guidelines of the EBCI liquor laws as defined by the Tribal ABC Board

  17. Must complete the daily checklist to receive a share of the tokes

  18. Knowledgeable of casino promotions and events in order to provide answers to questions from guests

  19. Adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies/procedures in an ethical manner

  20. Endorse the business objectives, ethics, and values of Caesars Entertainment in accordance with the Code of Commitment and Mission, Vision, and Values

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A high school diploma or GED is preferred

  2. Six months of guest service experience is preferred

  3. RASP certification is required*

*Can be completed within 30 days of the hire date

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  1. Must be able to attend to multiple priorities simultaneously

  2. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and manually push 300 pounds

  3. Must be able to maneuver and tap a keg weighing 165 pounds

  4. Must be able to be on feet for 8-10 hour shifts

  5. Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grasp items

  6. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues

  7. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English

  8. Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and air quality, including secondhand smoke
  9. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
