Purpose

The Banquet Houseperson cleans, sets up, and refreshes banquet rooms.

Principal Responsibilities

My Guest

  • Answer any guest questions or direct them to someone that can assist them. Ensure complete guest satisfaction.
  • Should always conduct him/himself with a pleasant and helpful attitude towards guest, co-workers and managers.

My Product

  • Complete all required set-ups and breakdowns on time and as specified on BEOs (Banquet Event Order).
  • Restock and deliver amenity boxes and all other items for the function on time, as specified on the BEO.
  • Ensure rooms are equipped with standard equipment such as recycling bin(s), garbage bin(s), amenity box, etc.
  • Maintain clean, orderly function rooms, storage areas, banquet furniture and equipment.
  • Responsible to supply, connect, and tape down power cords and/or Internet cables as specified in the BEO.
  • Ensure that required tables are properly clothed and skirted prior to set-up.
  • Assemble/disassemble dance floors, as required.
  • Ensure all rooms are refreshed during break. (e.g.. clean water glasses, fresh water, remove dirty glasses).
  • Keep storage rooms and the back of house clean and organized.
  • Utilize proper of trucks and dollies to move equipment, in accordance with safety procedures.
  • Collect all linen and return soiled laundry to the linen room, at the end of each service.

  • Communicate stock shortages to Management for re-ordering
  • Attend Department meetings as scheduled.
  • Assist Colleagues in performing their duties, as required.
  • Perform other task as assigned by management.

My Chelsea

  • Comply with Hotel policies and procedures.
  • Comply with Safety policies and procedures and report any safety hazards to Management.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by Management.

Academic and Working Qualifications

Working Experience

  • Previous Guest Service experience an asset.

Soft Skills

  • Good communication skills.

Languages

  • Ability to speak, read and write english

Physical Requirements

  • Lift heavy objects – 80lbs
  • Bending, lifting, twisting required
