Compensation Amount:

11.41 USD HourlyThe Banquets & Events Attendant is responsible for the set-up, service, and tear-down of banquet and event spaces, ensuring a clean, organized, and welcoming environment of guests. This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality service by anticipating guest needs, maintaining presentation standards, and supporting efficient event operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides friendly, professional service by greeting guests in a positive and courteous manner and responds promptly to requests.
  • Assist with the set-up and breakdown of banquet and event spaces according to event orders, diagrams, and management direction.
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all banquet areas before, during, and after events.
  • Monitors events to ensure proper presentation and functionality; replenish food, beverages, and supplies as needed.
  • Clear tables, removes dishes, and ensures timely clean-up throughout and following events.
  • Works collaboratively with kitchen, sales, and event staff to ensure smooth event execution.
  • Addresses guest concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary.
  • Follows all safety and sanitation standards; reports hazards or concerns immediately.
  • Properly stores, handles, and cares for equipment reusable materials after each event.
  • Provides bar service at events when assigned, in accordance with certifications and company policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support event operations.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn property food handling and sanitation practices.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to identify issues and proactively communicate with supervisors.
  • TIPS certification or the ability to obtain certification, if required.
  • Ability to interact with a wide variety of people, including guests and coworkers.
  • Ability to operate a point-of-sale (POS) system, including ability to consistently handle monetary transactions.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
  • Lifting, carrying and pushing up to twenty-five (25) pounds regularly, thirty (30) to thirty-five (35) pounds frequently, and up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to stand for the entire workday and climb stairs regularly.
  • Withstanding temperature extremes in indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays according to department needs.
  • Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties.

  • Banquet and event equipment (tables, chairs, linens, chafing dishes, serving trays, etc.)
  • Beverage service equipment (coffee machines, beverage dispensers, bar equipment)
  • Point-of Sale (POS) system
